Event Details

The Ridley Gallery at Sierra College is pleased to present "Mark Makers", featuring paintings by Tom Fillebrown, and ceramic paintings, vessels, and video by Anthony Maki Gill. Through non-representational abstraction both artists demonstrate truly process based work, Fillebrown layering, spreading, pushing and removing colorful acrylic paint on large canvases, Maki Gill building dynamic textural surfaces of clay in a neutral palette.

Tom Fillebrown is a Professor of Applied Art and Design at Sierra College, holding an MFA in printmaking from Montana State University in Printmaking and Painting, currently residing in Sacramento. Anthony Maki Gill is a driving force for the arts in Placer County, long time Art Department Technician at Sierra College, founder of the Auburn ARTS building, currently serving on the Board of Directors at Blue Line Arts.

This exhibition runs August 22 through September 21, with a reception September 12 from 5:00-7:00pm.

Ridley Gallery is located on the first floor of the Library/LR 102, on the Rocklin campus, 5100 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin. Regular hours for Ridley Gallery are 11am -6:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Admission to Ridley Gallery is free and open to the public.

There is a $3 parking fee on campus. Parking permits are available at dispensers located on the campus parking lot.
