Join us for 'Of Such We Dream: A Concert of Imagination, Activism, and Community' performed by the multi DownBeat Award-winning Sierra College Jazz Singers, directed by Melissa Fulkerson, and the Sierra College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, directed by Lee Hoffman. Take your mom to lunch before or dinner afterward!

The Sierra College Jazz Singers have performed their advanced repertoire throughout California at various festivals, high schools, and colleges, and for the Spring Choral Concert, they will perform their a capella set, including 5, 10, 15… (Dorough/Murai), My Better Half (McFerrin/Marsh), and jointly with the Sierra College Choirs, MLK (U2), featuring Talen Andersen.

The Sierra College Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will perform Sleep (Whitacre), I Dream A World a setting of Langston Hughes’ poem (Thomas), Fill My Life with Spring (Childs), Jabberwocky complete with toy percussion instruments (Pottle), The Promise of Living and Stomp Your Foot from THE TENDER LAND accompanied by piano duo Robert Aldrich and Courtney Tackitt (Copland), Lady of the Harbor a setting of the famous text by Emma Lazarus (Hoiby/Hoffman), Mata del anima sola featuring Lauren DeGruccio and Jake Michael (Estévez), Ain’t Gonna Let Nobody Turn Me Around arranged by Cosumnes River College Music Professor Omari Tau, featuring Jordan Marshall, Troy Dickman, and Kyla Hamlin, and I Feel Like Going On (Barnwell).

The concert will also include readings of original poems by Sacramento poet Jaz Thomas, and quotes from Martin Luther King, Jr, Quique Avilés, and June Jordan read by Claudia Castro

The Dietrich Theatre is located on the Rocklin Campus at 5100 Sierra College Drive, Rocklin CA. Enjoy free parking on campus during the weekends.
