Open house - fun for the whole family!

Event Details

It’s the stinky question we’ve all been wondering…why do beans give us gas? This irreverent program will discuss food science and the human body. Children can perform the “Asparagus Bathroom Test”, examine different types of molds that create delicious cheeses, participate in a fermentation yeast lab exercise, identify microbes (the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly), and categorize flatulent foods that can cause the tummy blues (we’re talking to you lactose and gluten!).

*Parents: this activity will offer “tasting stations”; please be mindful of any food allergens and use discretion. (Recommended Age 4+)

The Museum will be open for all to walk around to see the exhibits.
