Noises Off on September 9th and 10th 2019

Sierra College Theatre Arts Department will hold auditions Monday, September 9 and Tuesday, September 10, 2019 for its fall production of Noises Off by Michael Frayn, directed by Debra Hammond. Community members are welcome to audition.

STORY:  Brace yourself for comic chaos with the rip-roaring play within a play, Noises Off. The Opening Night performance of the farce Nothing On is just hours away, and as the cast stumbles through their final dress rehearsal, things couldn't be going any worse. With lines being forgotten, love triangles unraveling and sardines flying everywhere, it's complete pandemonium... and we haven't even reached intermission! Can the cast pull their act together on the stage even if they can't behind the scenes? Full of amazing surprises and glorious humor, you will relish every delicious moment of this classic comedy that The New York Times exclaims, "voyages to the outer limits of hilarity!

Audition Date: Monday and Tuesday, September 9 and 10, 2019, 3:30pm. Auditions held on a first-come, first-served basis. Parts available for 5M, 4F.

Audition Location: Auditions will take place in the Dietrich Theatre on the campus of Sierra College, 5100 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Auditioners are encouraged to prepare a one-minute modern, comedic monologue from any published play.  Monologues should best portray actor's strengths and must be memorized. It is requested that auditioners bring an 8x10 color photo-headshot and resume of acting experience, if available, but this is not required. If interested in checking out scripts prior to auditions, please e-mail sadams14@sierracollege.edu for an appointment.

Callbacks (by invitation only): Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 3:30pm.  Auditioners who are called back will be asked to audition by way of cold readings from the script. Noises Off is one of the classic modern farces, which contains a great deal of physical comedy. Actors will be expected to show abilities to demonstrate both physical work and comedic timing.

Rehearsal Dates:  September 16 through October 24, 2019, Mondays through Fridays at 3:30pm. There will be two pick-up rehearsals on Wednesdays, October 30 and November 6.
