Share in Spanish Professor Brandon Scutt’s innovative and highly engaging approach to language learning. All levels are welcome.

About our Speaker: Brandon Scutt, a.k.a Señor Scutt, has been a college and high school Spanish instructor since 2008. Señor Scutt has taught Spanish at the University of Nevada and the University of Iowa and currently teaches classes at Sierra College and Truckee High School. He is also a distinguished guest lecturer and presenter for the Intensive Spanish Summer Institute at Lake Tahoe Community College. Señor Scutt has studied and worked abroad throughout Latin America and believes the key to success in learning any new language is through natural immersion and storytelling.

Sierra College Insights offers an opportunity for intellectual dialogue across a range of scholarly subjects and issues. Each month a different professor will present a fascinating look at his or her research-based discipline using a variety of teaching methods including lecture, discussion, character enactment, slides, music, and other states of the art technology. The emphasis will be on interaction and engagement. The event is free and open to the community!


The faculty for Sierra College Insights are professors, professors emeritus, and highly experienced professionals whose subject expertise is academic in nature. Preference in faculty selection will be for those who live or have considerable experience in the Truckee/North Tahoe region. All faculty volunteer their time and expertise and are greatly appreciated.
