Want to raise your grades? Need help with homework? Want to prepare for a test? Come to the Tutor Center. We have many student tutors in a wide variety of subjects. All our services are free.

What We Offer

We have different types of tutoring and will try to adapt to your needs.

  • One-on-One: Schedule one-on-one appointments by phone or in person. Contact us.
  • Drop-In: Walk into a session. No appointment needed. View our drop-in schedule.
  • In the Center: We usually have tutors waiting to help. Visit us.
  • Online Tutoring: For help around the clock, log into Canvas. From your list of courses, choose the class you want tutoring for. Click on the “Online Tutoring” link in the course menu at the left of the screen.
  • PASS Peer Program: PASS peer tutors are assigned to a course, help out in class, and hold study sessions outside of class. Contact us to find out more.

Get Paid to be a Student Tutor

If you love to help others, join our team of student tutors. We need patient and kind people who can work with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Requirements for Becoming a Tutor

  • You earned an A or B in the classes you want to tutor
  • Have an instructor’s recommendation for each course you want to tutor
  • Complete an interview
  • Must be enrolled in at least six units
  • Either have completed or are enrolled in the SD1 Intro to Tutoring class
  • Go to paid training sessions
