Application Deadlines:

  • Fall semester: June 1
  • Spring semester: Nov. 1
  • Summer session: May 1

Late applications will not be accepted.

Paying the Application Fee

You can send the application fee by the following methods with a completed payment form.

  1. Checks (personal, cashiers, etc.)
  2. Credit card (MasterCard or Visa ONLY)

Submit your TOEFL score or IELTS score Minimum 133 CBT, 450 PBT, or 45 iBT; IELTS score 5.0
Submit an original bank statement Balance at a minimum of $18,000 US dollars
Provide official transcripts Indicating completion of secondary school (if appropriate translated into English)
Submit a copy of your passport Photo page of a valid passport

*Our international admission requirements conform to the regulations of the United States government for issuing F-1 visas.

Health Requirements

Health Insurance

All international students are required to purchase medical insurance from the Sierra College selected provider.

Tuberculosis Testing

You must provide evidence of freedom from tuberculosis before the start of classes. If you are unable to receive the skin test at home, we will provide it at Sierra College. Deadline to have results read is the end of the first two weeks of the term. However, to make your transition easier it is best you do the screening while in your home country.

All documentation must be translated into English and dated within three months before the start of class and must be complete.

Student Visa Process

  1. Apply to Sierra College. Once you are accepted, you will receive from Sierra College your Form I-20 and acceptance packet.
  2. Once you receive your I-20 make an appointment at the US embassy or consulate in your home country.
  3. Pay the required SEVIS fee online – remember to take a copy of the receipt to your Visa appointment. For more info visit
  4. Go to your appointment and remember to take all your documents with you, (I-20, acceptance letter, financial documents, etc.)
  5. Make your travel plans to come to Sierra College approximately 2 weeks before classes begin to attend the mandatory orientation.
