Sierra College Foundation’s Nevada County Coordinating Council is made up of community members and staff representatives. Our mission is to support the students and programs of the Sierra College Nevada County Campus (NCC).

What We Do

Following Sierra College Foundation guidelines, we raise money to support Guardian Scholars, Veterans Services, Innovation, Student Emergency Fund, and Scholarships. Members of the Council familiarize themselves with Sierra projects and serve as ambassadors to the community to raise awareness of the importance of NCC.

The Council holds an annual Day for Women fundraiser, which is a day of workshops and lunch for women to learn new things and meet new people. The funds raised have supported the Student Food Pantry, the Science Lecture Series, various classroom projects, the 7th Grade Day at Sierra College NCC and others programs and services.

The Council has raised money for five $1,000 Osher Scholarships for Nevada County students in perpetuity. In addition, we have sponsored scholarship essay tutoring workshops and offered student scholarships to Curious Forge. The Wellness Center has also been funded through the Council.
