Sierra College Health Services is available to all students, including those enrolled in non-credit-only courses. To access free or low-cost medical services, non-credit students must pay the mandatory $27 health fee and complete the Non-credit Health Services Request Form (Translated to Spanish) (Translated to Russian) each semester.

• Step 1: Complete the Non-credit Health Services Request Form (Translated to Spanish) (Translated to Russian)
• Step 2: Take the form to Admissions and Records to verify you are enrolled in non-credit only classes
• Step 3: Pay the $27 (Fall or Spring semester) at the Cashier’s Office at Rocklin or at Admissions and Records at NCC
• Health Center access will begin next business day

There are no insurance plans for students associated with Sierra College. There is information available at the clinics about insurance plans available for purchase by students. It is strongly encouraged all students have their own health insurance. Learn more about Covered California: Affordable Health Insurance for Students.

Students who are solely dependent upon prayer for healing and do not rely on medical services can apply for a Health Fee Waiver. You must provide an official letter from your church (on letterhead) verifying the information. Stop by the Health Center to pick up the form.

Your Rights

Everyone who receives care through Student Health Services at Sierra College has certain rights as a patient that we are responsible for providing:

• To be treated with respect and courtesy
• To have your condition and treatment explained in understandable terms
• To get a second opinion before making a medical decision
• To choose your provider or to request a change, no questions asked
• To privacy and confidentiality

All services rendered through Student Health Services are completely confidential. Your privacy is respected. Medical records are protected by law and cannot be released without your written permission, except under special legal circumstances.

Your Responsibilities

Everyone who receives care through Student Health Services at Sierra College has certain responsibilities as a patient:

• To provide complete and accurate information to the best of your knowledge about your health, medications including over-the-counter products and dietary supplements and any allergies or sensitivities
• To bring identification to verify current enrollment
• To be on time for your appointment (If you are more than ten minutes late, you may be rescheduled)
• To work as a team with our health providers to get well
• To accept personal financial responsibility for charges incurred
• To be respectful to all health care providers and staff, as well as other patients
• To call and cancel or reschedule your appointment if you cannot keep it

Jamie Chin is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 14 years of experience helping people navigate life’s challenges.

She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as a client-centered approach to support students. Specialties include helping individuals overcome anxiety and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Her goal is to create a supportive space where people feel understood, empowered, and equipped with practical tools.

Linda has been a licensed therapist for many years, and has specialized in child abuse recovery, addictions and codependency recovery, and trauma-informed treatment. Her favorite modalities are cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and somatic approaches to the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADD issues, and adjustment disorders.

She has trained in:

• CPT (Cognitive Processing Therapy)
• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
• DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
• Transformational breathwork
• NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming)
• Motivational Interviewing, as well as psychodynamic therapy, IFS (Internal Family Systems), polyvagal-informed treatment, suicide prevention, Mental Health First Aid, and Hawaiian Huna

She has worked in school/college systems for 35 years, has been a Deputy Probation Officer, the Director of Treatment Services in a residential treatment center for adolescents, and the creator/coordinator of the student assistance program (STARS) at the Nevada Joint Union High School District. She has been at Sierra College since 2013 and loves working here!

Aaron is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with more than 10 years of experience supporting individuals who are working through life’s challenges. He works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, and strives to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental.

His approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered care. He believes therapy works best when clients feel supported.

In addition to private practice, Aaron has worked in colleges and hospitals supporting students and staff. Whether someone is seeking support during a difficult moment or working toward long-term growth, his goal is to meet clients where they are and help them move forward with clarity and confidence.

Dee is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) who is passionate about helping students navigate life’s challenges with confidence, self-awareness and resilience. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, supportive, and strengths-based, drawing from Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Dee believes that each person is the expert of their own story and works alongside students to identify goals, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change.

Dee is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and has a special passion for working with individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities. She strives to create a welcoming, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where students feel seen, heard, and valued. In addition to providing counseling services, Dee also serves as the Health Center Program Director.
