Sierra WordFest

Sierra WordFest

Mark Your Calendar: March 4, 5 and 7, 2026

First held in 2016 as a collaboration between Sierra Writers and Sierra College, the Sierra Writers Conference is now the Sierra WordFest. This much anticipated annual event provides inspiration, thought-provoking discussions, and presentations on timely topics. It also offers access to professional writers and publishers, plus writing activities for Sierra College students and the greater community through lectures, panels, workshops, and networking opportunities.

2026 Sierra WordFest: Power of Place

Now in its second decade, the Sierra Writers Conference is evolving into the Sierra WordFest because it isn’t just for writers. It’s a celebration for those who love the spoken and written word.

This year’s event will feature well-known writers, such as Daniel Handler (aka Lemony Snicket), and center on the theme “Power of Place.” The 2026 Sierra WordFest welcomes all literarians – listeners, readers and writers alike.

Seize this moment in this place.

Join us for three days of presentations and workshops that feed your soul, inspire your craft, and connect you with your community.
