The 5th Annual “A Taste of Excellence” 2009 was Magic!
The Foundation’s largest fund-raising effort, “A Taste of Excellence”, was held on Saturday April 25th, 2009 on the Sierra College Rocklin Campus. Over 400 peoples attended the event which featured more than 50 fine restaurants and wineries, as well as a silent and live auction. As a result of our community’s generosity, we were able to raise over $130,000 which will benefit Sierra College scholarships and other student programs.
Your Foundation has been busy raising funds to help support the students and programs at our College. Here is a sample of what we have accomplished.
- We raised over $1,900,000 last year!
- A Taste of Excellence raised over $175,000
- Funded over $140,000 of Staff / Faculty Grants
- Upgraded the technology (all new computers) in Student Learning Center (LRC 444) and the foreign language lab
- Funded over 170 scholarships reaching nearly $200,000
- Established 14 new scholarship accounts
- $800,000 was set aside as a major gift to the College to be used for Technology projects
- Increased the Technology endowment to $120,000
- Increased the Scholarship endowment to $80,400
